How to connect PayPal to your Kajabi account

What is PayPal?

PayPal is a service that enables you to pay, send money, and accept payments. PayPal uses data encryption and anti-fraud technology to help keep your information secure, reducing the risk of online fraud.


How to integrate with PayPal

To integrate with PayPal:

  • You will need to either upgrade your current PayPal account to a Business Account or create a new Business PayPal account. You must do this before moving forward with the instructions in this article. Kajabi accounts will only integrate with Business PayPal accounts, not personal accounts:

After you have created or upgraded to a PayPal business account you will need to go to [https://developer.paypal.com/developer/applications][2] and log in with your business account credentials:

Once you are logged in:

  • Open the Accounts tab under the Sandbox header.
  • Make sure both Business and Personal Sandbox accounts have a status of Complete:

  • Next, click the My Apps & Credentials tab under the Dashboard header.
  • Scroll down on this page until you reach the REST API Apps section.
  • Click Create App
  • Fill in the App Name with the name of your site or business.
  • Click Create App:

Tip:
If the "Create App" button is greyed out on your dashboard it should become active after 24 hours if not sooner. If it is still not clickable please contact PayPal support.

You will be redirected to a screen that contains the API Credentials needed to set up your PayPal integration:

  • Click the Live button on the right side of the page to view your Live API Credentials.

Warning:
Make sure you are using the Live API Credentials and not the Sandbox API Credentials. The Live API Credentials will be used for your PayPal integration.

Ensuring that you are viewing the Live API Credentials:

  • Copy the Client ID
  • Show the Secret and copy it to your clipboard.

Paste each code in their respective fields in the Payment Integrations tab under Settings:

  • Open the Settings tab from the dashboard.
  • Select Payment Integrations.
  • Click Connect on the PayPal integration.
  • Enter your PayPal email address.
  • Paste the Client ID and Secret:

Note:
Once you have accepted charges and recorded transactions through this integration there will be serious ramifications cannot detach your account so that you can integrate with another PayPal account. Please make sure you are using the correct PayPal account before you integrate.
