Fix: Pages are not loading Facebook Comments without "/p/" in the URL

If you have a Premier page with a Custom Content section and a Facebook Comments block, you may have noticed your Facebook Comments are not loading since we removed the /p/ from landing page URLs.

Here is an easy fix for this issue:

  • Edit the code of your page.
  • Open the snippets folder.
  • Select the custom_facebook.liquid file.
  • Delete {{canonical_url}} from line 13 of the custom_facebook.liquid file.
  • Open the page you're working on in another tab.
  • Copy the URL of the page.
  • Paste the URL inside the quotations exactly where you deleted "{{canonical_URL}}"
  • Delete the ?preview_theme_id=XXXXX from the URL.
  • Add a /p/ just before the title of the page in the URL.
  • The final code snippet on line 13 should be as follows:
