Frequently Asked Questions
Get Started for Free →You’ve never changed prices before. Why are you changing prices now?
We’re continuing to test different combinations of pricing and packaging as we have done in the past to continue to provide the best offering to our Heroes.
With added new functionality and increasing costs, we find it prudent to update our prices to continue to be able to build a sustainable business that provides exceptional performance to our Heroes. We haven’t changed our prices since 2015 and we’re making a conscious effort to price according to the value we provide today to ensure we can continue to build a powerful creator commerce platform.
How do I know which plan I’m on?
The plan name can be found in the Subscriptions tab under Settings here.
What about additional add-ons like BMA, Widgets, Dedicated CSM, etc?
Add-on prices will not be changing at this time.
Why are you changing limits?
The major reason for this change is that we’ve seen that 95% of Heroes don’t even come close to 50% of these limits that have been set today! Packaging our offering in a way that creates enough differentiation between Basic & Growth also causes less confusion for Heroes as they move between plans. Each plan is built for a specific stage of the Hero journey and we hope that our proposed changes to these plans reflect that.
I don’t need all the features in the plan above my current tier. What should I do?
All Heroes now have the ability to buy limit increases in the app when you hit your limits on your existing plans. For more information on feature limit increases and how to purchase, please see this article.
What is a third-party payment provider fee?
The third-party payment provider fee is an additional charge for Heroes who choose to integrate external payment providers, like Stripe, instead of Kajabi Payments in regions where Kajabi Payments is available. This fee helps cover the costs of maintaining and supporting third-party payment systems within the Kajabi platform. For more details, please see our Kajabi Payments fees article.
Which transactions will the third-party payment provider fee apply?
The third-party payment provider fee will be charged on all transactions processed by a Hero using an external payment provider, including Stripe in regions where Kajabi Payments is also available to that Hero. The third-party payment provider fee will not be charged on any transactions processed using Kajabi Payments or PayPal or on transactioned processed using Stripe in regions where Kajabi Payments is not available. For more information on regions where Kajabi Payments is available, please see this article.
Why is Kajabi charging a fee for using a third-party payment provider?
Third-party providers, such as Stripe, have always had fees. Historically, Kajabi has taken on the cost of implementing, maintaining, and servicing these connections. As Kajabi continues to invest in new features and tools, this new fee helps ensure that we can sustainably support these integrations while delivering the best tools to help our Heroes grow their businesses.
Why do the new plans (aka refreshed plans) have 3rd party payment provider fees?
We’ve introduced the third-party payment provider fee to cover the costs of supporting external payment providers like Stripe. These costs include maintaining integrations and ensuring compatibility with new features we develop. Kajabi Payments is our in-house payment providers, built to offer a seamless experience and features on par with Stripe. While Kajabi Payments continues to evolve, it requires time and resources to support both Kajabi Payments and third-party providers.
Note: PayPal transactions are not subject to any third-party payment provider fees.
Kajabi Payments is not available in my region. Will I be charged a third-party payment provider fee?
Heroes in regions where Kajabi Payments is not available will not be charged a third-party payment provider fee. However, once Kajabi Payments becomes available in their region the third-party payment provider fee will apply if they choose to use an external provider instead of Kajabi Payments.
Kajabi has 0% transaction fees, but there are still Kajabi Payment processing fees and a third-party payment provider fee. Can you explain the difference?
When Heroes make a sale on Kajabi, we don't take a percentage of the revenue from that sale as a transaction fee—this is what we mean by 0% transaction fees. Unlike most creator platforms, Kajabi ensures that Heroes keep all of their earnings from sales.
However, standard payment processing fees are separate and still apply. These fees are charged by payment providers (like Kajabi Payments, Stripe, or PayPal) for processing payment transactions, and they are a standard part of online sales.
The third-party payment provider fee is an additional charge if Heroes choose to use third-party providers like Stripe instead of Kajabi Payments. This fee helps cover the operational costs of maintaining support for those third-party systems.
Why should I consider the Pro plan?
The Pro plan is designed for anyone looking to expand their business. It offers significant cost savings by providing more advanced tools and resources that support sustainable growth. By choosing the Pro plan, Heroes can maximize their profitability by getting discounted Kajabi Payments processing fees, while accessing everything they need to take their business further.
Can I still use Stripe or PayPal with my Kajabi account?
Yes, Stripe and PayPal are still available! However, using Stripe may involve additional fees from Stripe and Kajabi depending on where the Hero’s business is located and if Kajabi Payments is available in that region. Using PayPal may involve additional fees from PayPal.
For the most efficient and cost-effective payment processing experience, we recommend considering switching to Kajabi Payments.
What are the benefits of using Kajabi Payments over Stripe or PayPal?
Kajabi Payments, our native payment provider, simplifies the entire payment process by eliminating the need to manage multiple external tools and interfaces like those required for Stripe and PayPal. This in-house payment provider not only reduces processing fees but also streamlines the reconciliation process.
Additionally, Kajabi Payments offers a cohesive user experience, ensuring that all platform features work together seamlessly. This not only enhances the security and usability of Heroes’ payment operations but also makes it a more efficient and reliable solution compared to third-party providers. Learn more about Kajabi Payments.
What happens if I switch from Stripe or PayPal to Kajabi Payments?
Switching to Kajabi Payments is quick and easy. Heroes will benefit from reduced processing fees, automatic sales tax calculations, and seamless integration with accounting features. Check out our on-demand training on how to get setup with Kajabi Payments.
What is the difference between using Stripe and PayPal in terms of the third-party payment provider fee?
Stripe is classified as a third-party payment provider within our platform. Choosing to use Stripe instead of Kajabi Payments will incur a third-party payment provider fee. This fee helps cover the costs associated with maintaining Stripe's separate payment infrastructure.
On the other hand, PayPal is considered a third-party payment method, which means it can be used in conjunction with Kajabi Payments without incurring any additional processing fees. This gives Heroes the flexibility to offer PayPal as a payment option to their customers without extra costs.
How do Kajabi Payments processing fees compare to Stripe?
Kajabi Payments offers competitive rates. With a more straightforward fee structure, Kajabi Payments helps Heroes manage and forecast their expenses with greater accuracy. For a breakdown of Kajabi Payments fees by region, please review this Help Center article.
Will changing the payment provider affect my customers?
Switching to Kajabi Payments is designed to be seamless and should not affect Heroes’ customers' checkout experience. They will continue to enjoy a secure and reliable purchasing process.
If Heroes have existing subscriptions or multiple payment plans, they will remain on the former payment provider, while any new purchases will be processed through Kajabi Payments. Their customers will not notice any difference in the experience.
How does Kajabi handle sales tax compared to third-party providers?
Kajabi Payments automates sales tax calculations and collection during checkout, providing a seamless tax experience. This is different from using third-party payment providers like Stripe or PayPal, where additional configurations or third-party applications are often needed to manage tax effectively. Learn more about Kajabi Sales Tax.
Are there any long-term contracts or cancellation fees with Kajabi Payments?
No, there are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees with Kajabi Payments, allowing Heroes the flexibility to adapt their payment processing solution as their business needs evolve.
